Curtains made from vintage 35mm film slides

I wish I had thought of this; these gorgeous curtains made from 1,152 35mm vintage film slides by Scott Sherwood. I’ve seen lamps made from film slides before, but never curtains. Clever idea.

The slides were meticulously sorted and put in order by color theme from pink at the top , followed by red, orange ,yellow, green, blue, and purple.

All the 35mm slides are original photographic images from the the past 50+ years from various amateur photographers around the world and the subject matters are as diverse as the planet itself.

By night the slides are visible from outside when the interior lights are illuminated acting as a privacy window for you.

According to Sherwood, the project took over 4 months to make.

Below, what it looks like when sunlight shines through.

Three metal dudes break all of Martha Stewart’s home décor rules by painting a pink room (yeah, a pink room!) white with their mad headbanging skills.

Methinks Beavis and Butt-head would approve!

I’m so in love with this… that I’m so in love with this!!! A terrific Leigh Bowery shower curtain spotted by our pals at World of Wonder. This gem has a “buy it now” option on eBay for $95.00.

WANT.

Below, a crude, but effective (and NSFW) music video of Leigh Bowery and Raw Sewage doing their version of “Walk this Way.”

Images of burned Nirvana CD’s (with “art” by Sharpie) printed on an over-sized woven cotton blanket by artist Peter Sutherland.

The longer I ponder this one, the funnier it becomes. The Nirvana Blanket can be yours for $250 at Refinery 29.

I usually don’t like skulls or wallpaper in general, but this Day of the Dead Skull design by Emily Evans of AnatomyUK is incredible! The wallpaper was specially designed for two Latin-themed bars located in London.

According to Street Anatomy blog:

“The high quality wallpaper is meticulously screen printed by hand using metallic gold ink on peacock, charcoal, and raspberry. The gold ink makes the pattern shine brilliantly under a variety of lighting.”

For more information about Evans’ wallpaper visit Anatomy Boutique.

Lamps made from the tail fins of bombs

The Megaton Massive Bomb Lamp made “with the tail fins of a 100-lb bomb from the Korean War” is a new item on my need want list, you know, along with that Godzilla candelabra I want, too.

The interior of the fins retains the original turquoise paint, for a subtle wink of color. Finished with a polished nickel socket, elegant cloth-wrapped cord, and a natural linen shade.

The lamp will cost you $780.00 + $60.00 for shipping. Seems a bit expensive, but then again, what do I know about making “bomb lamps”?

Incredible digital rug design concept that changes patterns when you walk on it. Unfortunately, there’s no information on YouTube for who is responsible for this amazing goodness.

If I owned one of these, I’d want something like the iconic carpet patterns from The Stanley Hotel.

A sampling of work here from Israeli artist, Boaz Arad.   According to Arad, the above rug represents (for better or worse), what a Nazi hunter might do if he/she were able to capture the ultimate prize.  The video below Cuisinarts a number of speeches to the point where Hitler’s forced to say, in Hebrew no less, “Greetings, Jerusalem.  I am deeply sorry.”
