I guess people really do give a shit about David Bowie’s teeth! I, for one, have never thought about them. Never.

Apparently it was/is a hot topic as the video below goes into great—painful, even—detail about Bowie’s choppers. Celebrity surgeon Dr. Alex Karidis makes an appearance and “looks Major Tom in the molars.”

Apparently there’s an underground market for used dentures

Just look at this jar full of used dentures!

According to Justin Hunter at Blazen Fluff there’s an underground market that can’t wait to buy your (or a jar full of) used dentures. Hunter made this discovery not too long ago when he sold a jar of used dentures (just for shits and giggles to see what would happen) on eBay and they sold for $110.00! He was shocked and little confused by this, natch.

Here’s his hypothesis on why folks can’t wait to snatch up used false teefs:

A set of custom fit dentures can cost $900+. A set of used dentures?  $100-200. All it takes is a dremel to make the used dentures fit the mouth, some material called a reline kit to make the dentures fit better, and you have yourself a set of teeth again.

So there you have it. Why pay those exorbitant prices at the dentist? Buy some used dentures online and make sure your dremel is handy. Presto! Beautiful teefs Gary Busey would be envious of, for a fraction of the price!

Okay, so these images are from the FrasacoUSA! 2013 calendar, but there has to be one for 2014, right?! I mean, I don’t think I can live without one now that I know of its existence. It’s a “good Lord, WTF am I looking at!” work of art.

Sadly, I can’t seem to locate a 2014 calendar on the FransacoUSA! site, but here’ a link to where you can contact them. Maybe if enough people demand ‘em, they’ll make ‘em? They.Just.Have.To.

While somewhat gnarly, sure, but it’s still rather fascinating to see what it looks like as permanent teeth form within the skull before pushing out baby teeth.

Could the artistry of David Bowie be tied somehow to the appearance of his teeth?  That appears to be the subtext of the following video.  Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie?  As “Surgeon To The Stars” Alex Kardis points out, “his teeth don’t look particularly great.”  By the time he got around, though, to recording Let’s Dance, Bowie’s choppers look brighter and tighter.

I find it interesting that Rolling Stone’s Alan Light feels that after Bowie cranked out not only Ziggy Stardust, but Hunky Dory, Low, Station to Station, etc., the one thing “holding him back” was a self-consciousness about his teeth.  Hmm, by that logic…did cosmetic surgery beget Tin Machine?!
