Hey everybody, Polatik has made a professional music video ! It’s scientifically front-loaded with shots of all 10 brown-skinned people that have been seen at the recent klan teabagger rallies. See, they are aren’t a racist mob of shit heads after all, but rather a thoughtful rainbow coalition of enthusiasts for the funky talking style of music so favored by today’s youngsters. Dope !

Man Attacked At Tea Party Rally For Declaring Fondness For Ham and Kvetching About Bunions

Hilarious and potentially suicidal prank by the Nut-tea party in Boston this past tax day.

I kept my sign raised proudly, even when I felt a tap on my shoulder. Soon the tapping was on both shoulders, but I kept my sign aloft—until someone forcibly pulled it down.
Now there was an altercation. Someone was climbing on top of me, using my back as leverage, to rip my sign down. Because I had on an enormous gay hat, this drew everyone’s attention—including Sarah Palin, who briefly looked up from her notes to register what was happening, then back down again, unable or unwilling to stand up for the rights of ham lovers.
I regained control of my sign, landing it on the ground in front of me. Suddenly I found myself surrounded by three burly men: one squeezing himself directly in front of me with a Sarah Palin sign so I could not move, a leather-clad biker type pressing against me on my left, and a bulky fellow on my right who started forcibly pulling my signs away from me.
It was freaky: I was in the middle of a huge crowd, with three guys who could easily take me out (I’m small). I didn’t know if they were hired guns, or just loyal patriots, but they were definitely coordinated, and angry. I sat through the next few minutes of Palin’s speech, engaged in a quiet tug-of-war with the guy trying to steal my signs. My mind was racing, weighing whether it would be worth the risk to display my second sign: OY, MY BUNIONS.
I was truly scared. On the one hand, these guys could follow me back to my car with chains. On the other hand, I only wanted to complain about a structural deformity of my foot. Didn’t I have the right, as an American, to kvetch about the enlargement of tissue around my big toe?
As Sarah Palin crescendoed into a rousing description of the bravery of our founding fathers, of their courage in opposing unfair taxes, I took her lead and fearlessly held up my sign.
There was an immediate cry from behind me to PUT THE SIGN DOWN, followed by a chaotic moment in which TWO guys surged forward to wrench the ridiculous signs from my hand. I was shoved down to the ground, stepped on, and kicked.
I clawed my way back up, determined to follow the guys hauling off my prank signs. The crowd was shouting at me now, shoving me forward. Someone ripped off my watch; someone else stole my hat. I luched forward, desperate to escape the melee. Mobbed to death at a Sarah Palin rally. That would be an embarrassing way to die.
To encourage oil drilling in protected American lands, Sarah began leading the crowd in an angry chant of “DRILL BABY, DRILL!” as the crowd pushed me out like a kidney stone. I was about thirty rows from the stage before the jeering and taunts finally died down. I looked over my shoulder, but no one was following me. I was safe.

No surprise here—none at all—that this is happening right in the heart of Michelle Bachmann’s congressional district. Is there something in the water in that part of the state that makes people fucking stupid? Evidentially so! Someone needs to do an environmental and demographic study of the area and IQ tests of the local population. I’m pretty sure it would show that there is a direct correlation between a low IQ and a vote for Michelle Bachmann. Not saying everyone in the area is an idiot, but some of them definitely are.

Andy Birkey writing in the Minnesota Independent:

imageGranite City Baptist Church raised some eyebrows this weekend when it bought an ad (pdf) in the St. Cloud Times that questioned whether Muslims are a “threat” to America. “How do Moslems seek to take control of a nation?” the ad, which features a photo of Pastor Dennis Campbell, asks. “Moslems seek to influence a nation by immigration, reproduction, education, the government, illegal drugs and by supporting the gay agenda.”

Just let me jump in here for a second: I have never in my entire life heard of any Muslim individual or group ever supporting any manner of some supposed gay agenda! Have you? Pastor, where did you get this secret information from? How many Muslims have you even met in your entire life? Back to the article:

The ad is part of a string of incidents in St. Cloud that troubles human rights advocates. Within the last year, pornographic posters depicting the Muslim prophet Muhammed were put up on St. Cloud telephone polls, and Muslim students in St. Cloud area high schools have reported religious harassment.

Last week, MPR reported on several racist Facebook groups that were created by St. Cloud high school students. “I hate the Somalians at Tech High,” was one such group. Kyle Adams, a former student at St. Cloud Technical High School (he was kicked out for repeatedly using racial slurs) told MPR, “I was raised in believing that this country was founded upon a white Christian nation and the belief of racial separation.”

The Granite City Baptist Church ad seems to mirror some of that anti-Muslim sentiment. “What happens when Moslems take over a nation?” asks Campbell in the ad. “They will destroy the constitution and force the Moslem religion on the society, take freedom of religion away, and they will persecute all other religions.”

I’m sorry to stain our lovely blog with even the mere whiff of S. Palin but it’s worth suffering through her typically moronic straw-man attack to witness the high road being taken in a most marvelous way by El Presidente. He ain’t even remotely perfect but it’s hard not to love him for this kind of thing.

Dr. Jack Cassell: Idiot doubles down, removes all doubt that he’s a moron

Dr. Jack Cassell, Orlando urologist and Republican crackpot, is the asshat who put up the sign in his practice reading: “If you voted for Obama…seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years.”

Predictably the “liberal media” went nuts on this guy’s dumbass—he deserved it—and Cassell’s been seen making a fool of himself all over the media lately trying to stick up for himself and managing to damage his reputation even further. From The Washington Monthly:

But perhaps the most important coverage was an interview between Cassell and Alan Colmes on the radio Friday night. The host tried to get a better sense of why, exactly, Cassell hates the Affordable Care Act so much. The urologist specifically argued that officials, in light of the new law, are “cutting all supportive care, like nursing homes, ambulance services.”

Colmes: What do you mean they’re cutting nursing homes?

Cassell: They’re cutting nursing home reimbursements.

Colmes: Isn’t what they’re cutting under the Medicare plan what was really double dipping; they were getting credits and they were getting to deduct them at the same time.

Cassell: Well you know, I can’t tell you exactly what the deal is. [emphasis added]

Colmes: If you can’t tell us exactly what the deal is, why are you opposing it and fighting against it?

What a good question. Cassell struggled to explain himself, saying he’d seen some things “online,” and adding that the information he needs to understand the law “should be available to me.”

Of course, the information is available to him, and has been for months. Cassell chose not to do his homework before driving patients away—patients who, it turns out, may know a lot more than he does about the law he claims to hate.

This is painfully common—some of the loudest, angriest critics of the Affordable Care Act are also some of the least informed, most confused, embarrassingly ignorant observers anywhere. In this case, Cassell has become a national joke because he’s repulsed by a health care reform plan that he fully admits he doesn’t understand.

It’d be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

Roger that…

Man goes on anti-meat stabbing spree in the name of vegetarianism

A fellow in Edinburgh, Ind., went on a perplexing rampage recently when he stabbed several packages of raw meat in a supermarket, apparently all in the name of vegetarianism. But Anthony Coffman didn’t stop there. He also took the additional step of smearing dog food into some of the packages, hoping to contaminate the meat so it could not be sold. His motivation? Well, according to what he told startled store employees, Coffman was on a mission from God to prevent little girls from eating meat so they wouldn’t get fat.

As admirable as Coffman’s goals might have been, his methods didn’t win him any fans among store employees, who wrestled him to the ground and held him until the police arrived.

“He thought if he could save one chubby girl, he’s done his job,” Edinburgh police Deputy Chief David Lutz told WRTV news. “He’d got into it with his grandmother. She was preparing a pot roast … and he was upset over that. Him and her had a few words, and then a couple hours later, he’s down there at the Jay C Food Store doing this.” About $200 worth of meat was lost in the incident. Coffman faces charges of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
