Blinding Light Of Heaven: David Sylvian and Robert Fripp live in Tokyo, 1993

In 1991 Robert Fripp approached David Sylvian about joining a new iteration of King Crimson. Sylvian declined, but we don’t really have to wonder what that would have sounded like, since he joined up with Fripp (and Fripp associates Trey Gunn, Michael Brook and Pat Mastelotto) anyway in 1992 for The First Day album and subsequent 1993 tour.

The all-but-in-name-only “Crimson fronted by Sylvian” group was videotaped live in Tokyo for Japanese television.

Fantastic set with a mind-boggling “Darshan” at 1:02:33. Turn it up.
