The mysterious Clown who has been terrifying residents on the streets of Northampton has spoken to his local newspaper the Chronicle.

In a brief interview the Clown, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he had been “absolutely amazed” at the response to his spooky appearances in the town center since September 13th.

The Clown, who bears a resemblance to the monstrous Pennywise the Dancing Clown from, Stephen King’s novel It, said his actions had been intended all in good fun.

“I just wanted to amuse people. Most people enjoy being a bit freaked out and then they can laugh about it afterwards.

“It’s like watching a horror movie, when people get scared they usually start laughing.

“Naturally, some people would have been extremely frightened by what they saw, but I hope many are starting to see it as a bit of harmless fun.”

The Northampton Clown said he was a fan of Stephen King, and made reference to the film version of It during his conversation with the Chronicle. He also said he would continue to make appearances on the Northampton streets, and may even have a special “clown day” once a week.

After getting his ass whupped by the Losers’ Club in Derry, it would appear that Pennywise the Dancing Clown (“We all float down here…”) has made a sinister reappearance on the streets of Northampton, England.

Local police are investigating various sightings of clowns seen acting suspiciously on the local streets. Photographs of these Pennywise look-a-likes have been posted on a Facbeook page, Spot Northampton’s Clown.

Police are also trying to track two teenagers, who were similarly dressed as clowns, offering their services as painters and decorators.

Last Thursday, a woman contacted the police after the pair of clowns knocked on her door and offered to paint her window sills. The woman became suspicious after she noted they did not have any painting equipment with them.

The youths are described as having their faces covered with large amounts of white paint, and dressed like the evil clown from Stephen King‘s It!

A Swiss actor is carving out a new career as a sinister-looking clown—terrifying children’s birthday parties.  Dominic Deville had the brainwave after watching his favourite horror movies and set up his Evil Clown service in Lucerne.  And he says his unlikely new venture is going so well that he’s laughing all the way to the bank.

After he is hired to scare a birthday boy or girl, he first contacts his ‘victims’ to tell them they’re being watched.  Then he taunts them with texts, phone calls and booby-trapped letters warning them that at sometime in their party he’s going to smash a cake into their face.  “It’s all in fun and if at any point the kids get scared or their parents are concerned we stop right there,” he explained.  “But most kids absolutely love being scared senseless.”
