Dainty teacups filled with Cthulhu and other eldritch creatures

Brisbane-based artist Michael Palmer creates these fierce looking sea-dwelling creatures that sit within a dainty teacup full of “tea.” The “tea” is actually resin, so you can’t drink out of these. Bummer.

More than anything, they’re just awesome to look at and would make a cool gift for someone.

Even though an Ood from Doctor Who doesn’t technically live in water, I’d like to see one of those within a teacup.

You can purchase these cups from Voodoo Delicious on Etsy. Each (nonfunctional) teacup will run you about $45.

Here’s a stunning—and major décor statement piece, IMO—500 lb. bronze octopus coffee table by Los Angeles-based sculptor, artist and designer Isaac Krauss.

It’s pretty incredible, eh? I can’t find the price for this, but I’d wager that this sucker ain’t cheap…

You can contact Krauss via his website if you’re interested.

Little boy discovers meat is murder; makes his mom cry

I’m not posting this video to preach about vegetarianism or veganism, so spare me the grief (I still enjoy a good steak from time to time, even if it’s not often) but this little boy philosophizing about his octopus dinner is damned adorable.

Redditor Phormicidae sums up this sweet video quite nicley:

His philosophy is based solely on an emotional desire. What’s so touching is such deep compassion forming so early.

And on that note: “If you don’t eat your octopus, you can’t have any pudding, how can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your octopus!”

The Octopussy floor lamp is by Moscow-based designer Vladimir Tomilov. Not only do they resemble octopuses (or is it octopi?) but they have a Residents-ish eyeball thing going on, too, which I dig.

Whether or not these floor lamps are for sale, I don’t know. It appears you can contact Tomilov directly here if you’re interested.

Excellent hand-blown octopus-shaped glass pipes

Laughing Squid alerted me to these awesome one-of-kind hand-blown Octo-pipes by Loud Actions.

This is a pipe, and an amazing sculpture. This red Octopus has light fades of white that go nicely with all the suction cups. Each white suction cup is put on one by one and then picked to perfection which gives you the suction cup appearance. Each piece, without complication takes over 10 hours of work.

This piece is now made to order. You won’t ever see the same Octo-pipe but you can have one similar.

These functional Octo-pipes are available in several different colors and can be purchased at Loud Actions’ Etsy shop.
