Audrey Hepburn's creation of the eccentric free spirit Holly Golightly in the Blake Edwards' screen adaptation of Truman Capote's novella Breakfast at Tiffany's made her a fashion icon and is generally considered to be her most unforgettable movie role. In 2012 Breakfast at Tiffany's was selected by the United States Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry as a "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" work of art.
