Man with the ‘world’s smallest penis’ starts $22,000 fundraiser for enlargement surgery
GoFundMe campaigns are started for a number of reasons, but Michael Phillips, a 38-year-old man from North Carolina, might just have the most bizarre reason of all. Phillips wants to raise money to have his so-called “micro penis” enlarged, and needs $22,000 to do it.
In a video taken in his car posted alongside the campaign, Phillips assured viewers that this isn’t merely a cosmetic procedure. He explains that the size of his penis, measuring all of 0.38 inches (around the size of an average staple), makes it almost impossible to use the bathroom, forcing him to use pull-up diapers for the past few years.
In the GoFundMe, he writes, “I’m reaching out to anyone who understands how challenging this situation can be. Your support would mean the world to me and help me take a big step toward living with more dignity and independence.”
This is something of a change of heart for Phillips, who has previously gone to the Guinness Book of World Records to try and get his junk certified as the smallest in the world.
Should the campaign be successful, the process would begin with a $6000 surgery, then continue with a set of semi-permanent dermal filler injections that would help Phillips “regain some normalcy and comfort.”
At the time of writing, the campaign has gotten off to a solid start, coming up to the halfway point of its funding within one day of going live. Perhaps, it’s fitting that the largest donation so far, of a whopping $1000, supposedly comes from a penis pump company.
It’s an easy condition to joke about, but Phillips really does seem to be genuinely suffering from his condition, which can’t be easy to talk about without attracting ridicule.
However, he seems to have found a number of people who at least sympathise with his plight enough to give him the money for this life-changing procedure.
