The White House falls victim to beef tallow prank by In-N-Out Burger
It’s been a hectic week for those working in the White House’s communication department. To make matters worse, they have now fallen victim to a beef tallow-related prank by beloved burger chain In-N-Out.
There are only a few things that one needs to know about Robert F Kennedy, the Health Secretary of the United States. The first notable fact is his familial roots to the Kennedy clan, which put him on the path to the White House. The next thing to know is that he’s married to Cheryl from Curb Your Enthusiasm, and he once placed a dead bear in the middle of Central Park, which caused news hysteria. But, most importantly, Kennedy loves nothing more than beef tallow.
Last Thanksgiving, Kennedy went viral for his unusual method of cooking a Turkey, which saw him deep fry the gigantic bird in a huge boiling bucket of tallow while declaring to viewers, “This is how we cook the MAHA way.”
Then, earlier this week, they issued a press release celebrating that In-N-Out had opted to change their menu and had “transitioned to 100 per cent beef tallow”, which was a source of pride for Kennedy.
However, there was one issue with this claim—it’s not remotely true. The source used by the White House was a post made on X on April 1st, aka April Fools Day, from an account posing as In-N-Out. Yep, that’s right, a parody account duped the most powerful people in the United States.
Unsurprisingly, the mention of beef tallow being adopted by In-N-Out was quickly removed.
White House spokesperson Kush Desai told The Independent of the situation: “The media’s obsession with covering anything but the facts, like how the Trump administration is working with companies, including In-N-Out, to remove artificial ingredients from our food supply, is exactly why public trust in the press has plummeted to record lows.”
