Self-described longevity guru Bryan Johnson has told his followers on social media that he has successfully cloned himself to fight against his incurable autoimmune disease.
He wrote on his X account, “I just cloned myself … as a newborn,” before revealing that “baby Bryan” currently lives in a petri dish. With the clone’s help, Johnson claims he can make several strides against the incurable autoimmune gastritis he announced he was diagnosed with earlier this year.
Johnson said it will allow him to “be his own blood boy”, “develop new treatments”, “inject young cells” and most of all, “grow organs for transplantation”.
This comes after Johnson, the founder and former CEO of the biotechnology company Kernel, made headlines in 2021 for announcing his anti-ageing attempt Project Blueprint.
He has stated that the aims of the project were to reduce the biological age of his organs to that of an 18-year-old in order to “make death an option”. He announced that his goal is to live until 2140 at least, because that’s the year of the last Bitcoin halving.
Along with following a diet that is entirely plant-based, save for collagen peptides, and having a non-negotiable bedtime of 8.30 pm, Johnson has undergone several other controversial medical procedures with the intention of reversing his natural ageing process.
The most infamous of which came in 2023 by undergoing six one-litre blood transfusions with a series of younger men, one donor being his own son.
Johnson added in his X post, “This may be scary to some people…a dystopian future. But, for others, they will see it as the inevitable future of health.”
This is despite the fact that human cloning has not yet been achieved by modern science, and there’s no sign that a breakthrough will be made on that front any time soon.
It comes after he recently shared the diagnosis of his auto-immune disease with his 1.5 million followers on X, confessing that his stomach is “eating itself”.
“As a kid, I ate sugar cereal, drank sugary soda, and gobbled down fast food. I had a few healthy years in my early 20s but then became a young father of three and began building a business,” Johnson shared.
He added, “Juggling that stress and grind, I let my health slip and gained 40 lbs. Within a few years, I’d fallen into a deep, chronic depression. Somewhere in that timeline, my body began developing an autoimmune process affecting my thyroid and then my stomach lining.”
