Condoms being sold for €105 in Milan during Winter Olympics sex craze

Condoms are in high demand at the Winter Olympics in Cortina and Milan, with prices reaching as high as $100 on the black market.

At the 2026 Winter Games, 10,000 condoms were ordered for the 2,800 athletes, meaning that each athlete had access to three or four condoms.

This is considerably less than the Paris Summer Olympics, where 300,000 condoms were ordered for around 10,000, averaging out to 30 each.

A few days into the Winter Olympics, the athletes on site vanquished the condom count. Reportedly, 5,000 more condoms are on their way to the Italian site.

The organising committee told German news agency, DPA: “We can confirm that condom stocks in the Olympic Villages were temporarily depleted because demand was higher than expected. They will be continuously replenished until the end of the Games to guarantee their ongoing availability.”

Another Games spokesperson, Mark Adams, joked: “10,000 were used for 2,800 athletes, you can do the maths. This clearly shows that Valentine’s Day is in full swing in the village!”

In response to the shortage, athletes are turning to websites like Vinted to purchase safe sex products, where singular condoms are going for as much as $105, or £90.

However, the need isn’t just coming from inside the village. Milan Winter Olympics condoms have now become collector’s items worldwide; sellers are therefore charging upwards of $100 for those wanting to get involved in the fun from the safety of their couch.

The first-ever Games, which saw condoms given out to athletes took place in 1988. Since then, the committee has made sure to have tens of thousands of condoms on order and free for usage.

Scandalous sex parties are often expected at the Games, as athletes are pumped with testosterone and adrenaline, and need to find a way to blow off steam.
