I was thinking about working up a rant about the outrage that went down in Ireland (WHERE ARE THE RIOTS?) but there is no way that I could outdo this guy or say it any better. Genius!

 
Hard to fathom that none of us has put together a Bruce Bickford post before now, but here ‘tis. Like most geeky nerds, I was first introduced to the entirely stupendous and obsessively detailed, not to mention extremely demented claymation of Bruce Bickford via his extended sequences in Frank Zappa’s late 70’s concert film Baby Snakes. There’s also an excellent doumentary film about the man, Monster Road  which I couldn’t more highly recommend. Here then is a batch of excerpts from Bickford’s huge and ever growing body of work. This stuff’ll inform your dreams after you see it for better or worse. The complexity herein is truly staggering and more than likely, highly unhealthy. But like most unhealthy things, it’s fucking fun !

Turns out, CNN intended to use the ‘Dumb And Dumber’ scene to introduce a piece about men’s digestive diseases and someone slipped the clip into the wrong spot. Laughter ensues.

This Christmas card is part of a promotional campaign to get people to donate a percentage of their income to a Polish animal shelter.

The target audience for this ad are actually clubbers. It’s a postcard inserted in envelope with flyers promoting cultural and nightlife events, distributed in party venues and also posters placed in such venues. Christmas and first months of New Year (when you can donate 1% of your income tax to the chosen NGO) is kind of eruption period for charity campaigns. It was the intent of this piece to be different than all the rest of such campaigns and to draw attention of people who sort of became habituated seeing tear-jerking charity ads.

It’s effective. It got my attention.
