Get your naughty pooch in line with a gun-shaped retractable leash from Art Lebedev Studios. I wonder if the designers got the idea from the infamous National Lampoon cover of a dog with a gun pressed to its head? It sure looks like it. Whatever the case, it’s brilliant!

Povodokus sports a gun-shaped handle, which retracts the leash when you need to control your target dog. It’s a sure shot!

The lead goes out freely as the dog pulls and reels in when you pull the trigger.

In 2008, amateur photographer Sandra Critelli captured these stunning images of a mass migration of Golden Rays while looking for whale sharks off the coast of Mexico. She said, “It was an unreal image, very difficult to describe. The surface of the water was covered by warm and different shades of gold and looked like a bed of autumn leaves gently moved by the wind.”

Beautiful.

An extremely wild Fritz the Cat style PSA about AIDS awareness set to the tune of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation.”  No animals were harmed while making this… I think.

Let it be no secret hyenas terrify the shit out of me. Ever since I saw these photos, the idea of hanging out with hyenas is my worst freakin’ nightmare. Ethiopia’s Hyena Man must have big balls… some seriously big balls. From world photographer Michael Sheridan:

Harar is a mainly Muslim town in Eastern Ethiopia. Hyenas are common in the area. Every night, they come to the outskirts of town where they are fed by the Hyena Man. The ritual is carried out whether or not there are any onlookers.

Kayabuki is a restuarant where monkeys are the waitstaff, but in a weird twist, they have them wearing “human” masks (which I’ sure they’re not that thrilled with).

You can read more about Kayabuki and its mask-wearing simian employees here.
