Why Does the Media Pay Attention to the “Opinions” of Fucking Idiots?

There should be a SPECIAL Darwin Award for Pamela Pilger, the crazy lady who yelled “Heil Hitler” to an Israeli Jew in Las Vegas the other day at the health care town meeting, I’m sure she needs no further introduction, we’ve all seen her act like a complete fool in this clip.

But have you seen this one? Gawker posted this hilarious… well, at least unintentionally comic video of Pilger being interviewed about her “political views” before the meeting started. This lady is one SERIOUSLY stupid human being. She fits into the category of “so stupid she doesn’t know how stupid she is.” How do I know this? Because her husband has “two, no three jobs” and he doesn’t have health insurance… and she is still against universal coverage! Amazing but true. How much dumber could you be than Pamela Pilger?!?!?! She’s the new low IQ poster child!

But I ask you, how is it possible that the likes of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh can convince these poor dumbasses to be against the very things that would actually benefit them the most—guaranteed health care in a cruel fuckin’ world—in the one life they’ll ever get?!?! It boggles the mind. Pamela Pilger in her staggering stupidity is a one-woman microcosm of the wider conservative KNOW-NOTHING mindset these people have. Facts? Who cares about FACTS? THIS is who is fighting against health care for all, a woman whose very own husband lacks coverage!

WHY ARE THE MEDIA PAYING ATTENTION TO THE OPINIONS OF FUCKING IDIOTS?

REPUBLICANS ARE ASSHOLES. PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST HEALTH CARE FOR *OTHER PEOPLE* ARE MORAL PARIAHS.

Meet Pamela Pilger, the Crazy Lady Who Yelled ‘Heil Hitler’ at a Jewish Supporter of Health Care Reform [Note that the Gawker posting includes ways to contact Pamela Pilger yourself. Thank you Cajun Boy for this public service, you’re our hero!]

This just in from the Associated Press:

The Chicago Sun-Times says columnist Robert Novak, who was a central figure in the Valerie Plame CIA leak case, has died.  The newspaper says the longtime Washington fixture died at his home early Tuesday after a battle with brain cancer.  He was 78.

More links to come as “Prince of Darkness” tributes—and, more likely, whoops of joy—come rolling in today.  See what happens when you wish hard enough?!

Why I Will Never Spend Another Dime in Whole Foods

Not a nickel or penny for that matter.  Nothing. Ever again.

I was absolutely incensed by Whole Foods CEO John Mackey’s editorial against universal health care that appeared in Thursday’s Wall Street Journal. In a classic example of a smug, rich guy doing the “I got mine, buddy, go get your own” routine,  Ayn Rand-loving, Internet-trolling asshat Mackey actually has the nerve to suggest that instead of universal health care, people simply eat organic food bought at Whole Foods. You know, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. As yesterday’s TPM headline read “Who Needs Healthcare? We’ve Got Whole Foods!

imageIs this a joke? A ridiculous misguided publicity stunt where we still haven’t heard the punch line? Fodder for a future South Park episode? Not to get all Al Goldstein on you Mackey, but FUCK YOU. And to the WSJ editorial editors, for shame that you let something this blatantly RIDICULOUS appear on the pages of a supposedly respectable newspaper. It’s an embarrassment, like giving Marie Antoinette (or Betty Crocker) editorial space to declare “Let them eat cake” and then argue the point!

What a creep! But that’s not to say that something good might not come of this mortifying episode. Like a boycott of the most over-priced supermarket chain in history!

A woman named Mieke Eerkins sent out the following letter on Facebook, which I am excerpting here with her permission:

Subject: Whole Foods- Shocking News

I wanted to share this with my more liberal friends who probably shop at Whole Foods, and hope you’ll pass it on if you agree with me. I am shocked and disappointed to learn that Whole Foods Market’s company position is in opposition to health care reform, and in general, supports Republican ideologies. Apparently, for years now (as he admits), the CEO has been posting right-wing rhetoric in newspapers under a pseudonym, but yesterday, he published an op-ed piece openly under his real name that is pretty extreme right-wing on health care reform. The CEO’s statement in the Wall Street Journal is in direct opposition to what I thought they believed in, and certainly in opposition to the beliefs of many of their customers (including me). I had no idea he supported a Republican ideology! How can a store that pretends to be in favor of healthy living turn around and say that only some privileged people deserve access to health?

The Whole Foods CEO’s exact words: “Many promoters of health-care reform believe that people have an intrinsic ethical right to health care?

Glenn Beck, you are an ugly little man. You put shit into the world to enrich yourself, riling up low IQ people to violence with lies that you don’t even believe. You are the very definition of scumbag.

I like what BZB, one of the commentators on Huff Po said about this: “Where is the FCC when you need them? BECK NEEDS TO GET OFF THE AIR.” The follow-up, from TexasRodeoQueen reads, “No $***! But they will come after ya for flashing a 1/2 second of tit!” Good point! At least the FCC has its priorities straight…

When Did Americans Turn into a Bunch of Raving Lunatics?

From an alarming article posted on Esquire’s website by John H. Richardson:

image If a majority of our conservative population and that much of its elected leadership think that even some of this “birther” stuff is remotely possible, some very dark times may be heading to this country. Early this spring, I spent two very long days traveling around Kentucky with Orly Taitz, one of the leading “birthers” in a nation full of them. So I can tell you with confidence that this is much, much crazier than most people imagine ?

John Lydon: Elizabeth’s Jester

I recently surfed into some old Public Image videos and it all seemed obvious suddenly: Johnny Rotten was Elizabeth’s court jester. I mean, watch that video and tell me he wouldn’t have been a court jester 600 years ago, or wasn’t in the 70s and 80s.

That made sense to me. It says a lot about cultures, and how they don’t change?

Bush Administration Gets Its Own Social Network

If there is one thing our descendants will judge the 00s for more than the presidency of George W. Bush, it’ll be f—-ing social media. But now, both horrors have teamed up to create the ultimate Voltron of Suck.

The Raw Story reports:

Staffers for former President George W. Bush have an answer to the Facebook community’s generally negative view of them: We’ll start our own.

In a move reminiscent of the Bush White House’s decision to create an “Office of Special Plans” to find evidence tying Saddam Hussein to al Qaeda in an effort to end-run the Pentagon and the CIA when things weren’t turning out their way, former deputy White House press secretary Tony Fratto is leading an effort to create a social networking hub for “Bushies only.”

In an interview with Politico, the erstwhile spokesman said efforts to program the site are underway and that a site would likely launch by the end of the year.

The only way I can possibly respond to this is by offering a humble prayer at the altar of Anonymous: Please, 16-year-old geniuses, please… enjoy yourself with this.

Glenn Beck is Bad for America

Wow, what a disheartening display of low IQ buffoonery as U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (D-Tampa) attempted to hold a town hall meeting about health care in her district. An angry mob of mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging Cro-Magnon Birther people—er…“concerned voters”—nearly turned the meeting into an out and out brawl.

Here’s what Cajun Boy had to say at Gawker:

So who were these unhinged animals? Where did they come from? Who inspired them? We’ll give you one guess.

“Hundreds of vocal critics turned out, many of them saying they had been spurred on through the Tampa 912 activist group promoted by conservative radio and television personality Glenn Beck. Others had received e-mails from the Hillsborough Republican Party that urged people to speak out against the plan and offered talking points.”

Glenn Beck! Shocking, right?

Graphic Anti-Smoking Cigarette Packaging Coming Soon

Coming soon: graphic cigarette labels that go far beyond a simple warning:

Imagine gruesome color photographs showing a mouth riddled with cancer, lungs blackened, a foot rotten with gangrene. If the images sound sickening, well, that’s the point.

Under a law signed by President Obama on June 22—the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act—tobacco companies will be required to cover 50 percent of the front and rear panels of cigarette packages with color graphics showing what happens when you smoke and bold, specific labels saying such things as:

“WARNING: Cigarettes cause fatal lung disease.”

“WARNING: Tobacco smoke can harm your children.”

“WARNING: Smoking can kill you.”

These sorts of graphic warnings are common the world over. About time we get them in the USA.

Sick for Profit: Getting Rich by Denying Americans Care

Sick for Profit is a new campaign from Robert Greenwald and the gang at Brave New Films:

What does UnitedHealthcare CEO Stephen Hemsley have to lose if Congress passes real health care reform this year? Well, for starters, his nearly three quarters of a billion dollars in un-exercised stock options might lose a few pennies on the dollar.

What does Isabella, a four year-old girl in Wisconsin who is physically incapable of eating and has had to be tube fed her entire life, have to gain from healthcare reform? The treatment she needs to live a normal life.
