When one thinks of The Afghan Whigs and Usher it would rarely, if ever, be in the same thought. So the idea of the Cincinnati alt-rockers sharing the same stage with the ultra-smooth R&B vocalist and dancer was one of the most unexpected and mindboggling musical marriages at this year’s SXSW.

The packed house at The Fader Fort responded to Usher’s surprise appearance with wild astonishment. The roof was promptly blown off the sucker.
