Redditor chrisc2683 posted a photo captured by his security camera, allegedly of a UPS driver throwing a package on his doorstep. Yep! I hope it wasn’t a box of kittens either.

UPS has now responded in the thread on reddit. Here’s what they have to say:

My name is Debbie Curtis-Magley and I work for UPS Public Relations. As several people already pointed out, it doesn’t appear to be a UPS driver making this delivery based on the following:

1.) UPS drivers carry an electronic device (called a DIAD) to document deliveries and capture customer signatures 2.) UPS drivers wear company-issued brown socks as part of their uniform (the person in the photo has on white socks) 3.) There is no UPS logo visible on the person’s uniform

Throwing a package is inexcusable and UPS does not tolerate it under any circumstances. I sent a message to the OP asking for his assistance to get a tracking number on the shipment so we can determine if UPS was involved.

I also noticed comments from a few who shared their UPS frustrations in the discussion thread. My apologies that we’ve let you down. Please know that we appreciate all feedback—- good and bad. Our customer service team is available to help at 1-800-Pick-UPS. We’re also on Twitter at @UPSHelp.

I’m curious as to how this is going to pan out for chrisc2683. I will say this much, during last year’s holiday season I saw a USPS delivery guy winging packages—several of them—a distance of about 30 feet!
