‘Top ten things you should NOT say to a DJ’

So this list may only be relatable to DJs, but I thought I’d post it here anyway as I’m pretty sure that many of our readers probably do DJ.

I have to admit, I guess I myself have been the idiot responsible for asking a DJ or two to do a few of these things. Probably under the influence of a few drinkie poos, though I’m not going to tell you which ones as I now feel thoroughly embarrassed after reading this list.

If you are DJ, please feel free to add what else annoys you in the comments.

From one queen to another, and yet more birthday greetings! And what better way to follow up that last post? Happy birthday to Lady Miss Kier.

Also a fierce ruler of wigs and wedges, Kier and Lady Bunny are linked by both working with DJ Dimtry, Bunny with Shazork (as seen in the last clip I posted), and Kier, of course, with the incomparable Deee-Lite.

While they may be the band she is most closely associated with (and that’s no shame, as they are one of the greatest dance bands of all time) keep in mind that Kier is still going very strong, rocking a combination DJing-with-live-vocals set that I was lucky enough to catch a couple of months ago at Pussy Faggot. She tore the roof off the sucker, and boy can she still wail.

Here’s a clip of the Lady in action. Remember, there ain’t no party like Miss Kier Party!

Prince Har-i: young royal to become ‘reggae dj’

Apparently Prince Harry has aspirations to become a reggae selector. From The Sun:

The 27-year-old has become obsessed with the music since his trip to Jamaica earlier this year — where he met Rita Marley, widow of legend Bob.

Harry has been learning how to mix records old-school style on the decks, getting tips from a club DJ who is a close pal. And recently he has been adding to his huge house music collection with reggae on vinyl, snapped up from specialist online stores.

A source said: “Harry has always been interested in music, but Jamaica was a real eye opener. He started looking into reggae as soon as he got back to the UK.

The young prince now hopes to get good enough to play at parties. The source added: “He’s unlikely to ever DJ in public — but if he did it’d be the party of the year.”

Gor any Veras Arry? I suppose the fact that Harry has a “huge house music collection” shouldn’t come as surprise, as he has made a cheeky wee visit to rehab in the past. But reggae?! That’s madness I tells ya! Madness!
