When you think of the term “drug bust,” what image comes to mind? A news story making the rounds today might make you re-examine your assumptions.

Australian authorities announced its largest “drug bust” in nearly two years today, securing 1.26 billion Australian dollars (that’s $900,213,300 in US currency) in liquid methamphetamine disguised as stick-on gel bras and children’s glue.

The initial discovery was made in several weeks ago, when Australian Border Forces intercepted a shipping container from Hong Kong. Authorities found 50 gallons of liquid methamphetamine concealed inside the gel bra inserts, which, according to Australian Federal Police Commander Chris Sheehan, could have been used to make roughly 1,100 pounds of high-grade crystal meth.

Michael Keenan, Australia’s Justice Minister, said that the bust would result in 3.6 million hits of “ice,” as meth is commonly called in Australia, being removed from circulation. The seizure was the product of a new cooperative effort between Australia and China.

The drugs were found in several different location, primarily shipping containers with a starting point of Hong Kong. Four Hong Kong passport holders were arrested in Sydney last month over the import from China of 190 gallons of meth.
