An impressive confectionery tribute to Dexter‘s eighth and final season by Miss Cakehead and Annabel de Vetten aka Conjurer’s Kitchen. Whoa!

The entire cake Took over 100 hours to make and weighed over 105 kilograms. 24 eggs, 25 kilograms of flour, 16 kilograms of butter cream, 18 kilograms of sugar, 20 kilograms of sugar paste and marzipan, and 15 kilograms of butter cream were used in the creation of the edible masterpiece. So 20 blood oranges were used, the cake flavor inspired by the iconic titles of the series.

You can read all about the cake here.

Here’s a photo of Johnny Cash hoarding a delicious looking strawberry cake all for himself. I guess he didn’t like sharing desserts. Or forks!

Photo circa 1970s.

The detail in this “flapper” peach cake soaked in Bourbon by Karen Portaleo/Highland Bakery is astonishing.

This cake is simply too beautiful to eat. I’d feel guilty slicing into this tasty-looking masterpiece, named “Zelda.”

Peter Sellers Gives Britt Ekland A Birthday Cake To Remember

image

A short clip from Come to London, British Pathé‘s featurette highlighting some of the attractions available in the Swinging Sixties’ capital. This is worth watching for the water-bike, but especially for Peter Sellers giving Britt Ekland a birthday cake in 1966.

I could not care less about the Internet’s fascination with cutesy cakes, cupcakes and cookies. But I think I’m going to have to give in here because this Tyrannosaurus Rex cake made by Charm City Cakes blew my mind! Wow!

Jack’s Bar Mitzvah was last weekend. He wanted a big, scary, menacing T-Rex cake for his celebration. And boy did he get one. The whole team worked on this huge cake and personally I think it’s one of our best ever.

.
Jack’s one lucky kid.
